Agniveer Vayu (Sports) Recruitment 2025
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Agniveer Vayu (Sports), under the Agnipath Scheme, Intake 01/2026. This batch is for Indian born males who are single and have outstanding sports achievements, which also includes meeting the defined eligibility criteria.
The objective is to have in the IAF sports professionals who also serve the nation, which at the same time represent the Air Force in national and international sports. Selected candidates will serve for four years under the Agnipath scheme, gaining both military experience and sports exposure.

Educational Qualification |
Science Stream: 3 year Tech Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation/IT or 2 year Trade program which includes Physics and Math or 10+2 which has Physics, Math, and English (minimum 50% over all and 50% in English). Other Streams: 2 year Vocational Program (which also has the same academic requirements) or 10+2 of any field with 50% overall and 50% in English. |

Eligibility
Physical Standards
- Height: The minimum height requirement is 152 cm.
- Weight: Proportionate to height & age
- Chest: Minimum 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
- Vision: 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6; CP-II colour vision
- Must be fit to serve in all climates and terrains
Pay, Perks, and Benefits
Monthly Package
- Starting monthly salary: ₹30,000 (in-hand ₹21,000 after all deductions).
- Annual increments as per the scheme rules.
Allowances
Risk & Hardship allowance, Dress allowance, Travel allowance, Ration, Clothing, Accommodation, LTC (Leave Travel Concession).
Seva Nidhi
On completion of 4 years of service: ₹10.04 lakh (excluding interest).
Insurance Cover
Life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh (non-contributory).
Selection Process
1. Document Verification: Original certificates and sports achievement documents will be verified.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
- 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats (time-limit)
3. Sports Skill Trials: For candidates who qualify in PFT.
4. Medical Examination: Conducted by an IAF medical board to assess medical fitness.

- Submit and keep a printout for reference
